A perfect antidote to Lockdown. This is an opportunity to watch Ashley live from the studio, working on a new 'Penzance' painting, from beginning to end, in a series of 8 half hour videos throughout February. Ashley will share his ideas, influences, process and techniques with the viewers, giving a fascinating insight into contemporary painting. In our previous 'Painting Process' sessions, many of our viewers found the videos invaluable for their own practice.

Eight years since the last painting in the 'Penzance' series, it's time to look again, with fresh eyes, at this fascinating harbour-town, with its' curious house-shaped inner-harbour and triangular lido.'

HOW IT WORKS: Subscribers will be be emailed the exclusive video links at 6.30pm on a Wed and Sat, from Wed 3 Feb. This will be accompanied by high resolution images of the painting in process. The links will be available to you to view in your own time and for you to refer back to indefinitely.

COMMENTS BELOW FROM OUR PREVIOUS PAINTING PROCESS VIDEOS:

The last course really got the creative juices flowing so am looking forward to seeing more. Hazel Crawford

These have been wonderful series and reminds me of why Ashley has meant so much to my art process from that very first painting workshop in Bodmin and taking home my first Ashley ...Thank you I’m back in the studio painting Porthleven..
Jane Crane

I really like the way you've included all sorts of mark-making techniques and I love your way of discussing where the painting's going in successive layers.

You pack an amazing amount of teaching into a short time. I'll watch these sessions a number of times later to absorb more! Beryl Hawker

"Ashley's concern as an artist and teacher, is to unleash the emotional response to the subject matter that enables the painter to take risks, discover a 'personal colour palette that excites' and to provide the fresh vision of Britain's natural beauty that places him within the long tradition set by the masters of the landscape genre." Dr. Sally Bulgin, Editor, ‘The Artist’ magazine, February 2013
